If you are an experienced gymgoer looking for a bit more bang for your buck when you work out, try my favourite approach: a full-body weights circuit. This will give you the sweet spot of building muscle and burning fat at the same time. It’s not a workout for beginners.
The idea is to include what are known as compound movements, which are large movements that use several muscle groups at the same time, rather than always zoning in on one muscle group specifically. You can also do some exercises as super-sets, which is when you do two exercises back to back without a break.
